Day 7, already.
These are probably not the most amazing shapes in the world. They'll need some refining overtime, but my current plan is to get a feel for the kinds of buildings I want and need, and focus my time perfecting only the ones that matter most. I was able to finish prefabs for four more buildings today. All the ones I had had blocked out when I first began experimenting with Probuilder. I'm a little surprised at the amount of time I've spent doing this, but at the same time, I realize that it's not a bad way to spend an evening, especially if I can kind of mindlessly do it while listening to a good book.
I have a better idea of the kinds of buildings and shapes I want now. I think my next step will probably be a map of the hub city, with important locations and an idea of where players can and can't go. That way I can see what I have, what I need, and what gaps I have. That will give me some direction. I think my next post might provide some of these sketches and rationale, which is a bit more illuminating than some of these logs have been.
Thanks for reading,
